A Legacy Reclaimed

The NorShor Theatre, a cherished icon of the Northland, has reclaimed its position as a beacon of arts, entertainment, and world-class performances.

In 2010, the City of Duluth embarked on a bold journey, acquiring the NorShor Theatre and its surrounding real estate with a vision to revive it as a vibrant cultural hub and catalyst for economic growth. Partnering with Sherman Associates and Duluth Playhouse, a monumental restoration project unfolded, breathing new life into this historic gem. From the grandeur of its balcony to the hustle of the box office, every inch of the landmark 1910 theatre was meticulously restored.

Through milestones and challenges, the NorShor Theatre emerged anew. Completed in 2019, it now stands proudly as the home of Duluth Playhouse, offering culturally rich experiences, engaging the regional arts community, and hosting world-class events befitting this revitalized historic venue.
